Aw shucks. And here is a medium I thought we could stick with for a (long) while.
Maybe so ... but so am I. I love my vast cd collection.
CDs and DVDs are fine. No one owns anything digital, so buy physical copies.
I like having CDs as a reference copy that I can upload to digital form. My entire iTunes library went poof one day, and while it was frustrating and inconvenient, I didn't actually lose any music, because it was all ripped from my CD collection.
I wouldn't call it out of date. It's just a preference for storage. I still have some old records and even 8 tracks. (Even though I have all my music digitized for practical day to day use.
I have many CDs that I listen when I feel like it.
They pretty much are, they're wide, can scrath or break easily while SD cards or flash drives are a lot smaller and more resillient and can pack a lot more memory.
NO NO NO NO, HECK NO! down with crappy sounding digital, CD's all the way,. I like to have physical copies
CDs are unreliable. Every CD I have eventually becomes unreadable. Possibly because the drive collects dust inside, or suffers some other mechanical failure..
