Do you think the pipeline should be stopped or not?
I have no stance on the issue atm, I was wondering in anyone had any strong opinions on the subject.
No, don't stop it.
The Diamond Pipeline will provide the Valero Memphis Refinery with domestic sweet crude oil from Cushing, Okla., which will enhance the refinery’s long-term viability for the production of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel for the greater Memphis and eastern Arkansas area and provide economic benefits to the areas along the route.
Diamond Pipeline LLC is committed to designing, constructing, operating and maintaining the Diamond Pipeline in a safe and reliable manner, and in many cases, will exceed required safety, design, construction and operating standards.
I would think it would be ecologically safer and better for the environment than the present method of getting oil to the refinery.
Can anyone explain why they didn't build the refinery closer to the oil fields?
