I don't settle...I trust my heart...which is a complete idiot
Best thing to trust.
Idiot or no
I just wish my heart and brain were on better speaking terms
It all depends on what we are talking about.
Love, cars, food, sheets, floor covering...etc
With love, when you find what you are looking for, hang on to it. There will be ups and downs. It's not "settling" for anything. With cars, I settle for what I can afford that meets my needs. (We can't all drive Ferrari's.) For food, I want good quality, which doesn't mean lobster and prime rib every day. For the rest.... if it's clean, serviceable and looks good, I'm easy.
Im with you, jim.
Especially on love.
Little that is worthwhile, comes easy.
At least in my experience
Some people just cannot be satisfied.
Good, better, best
Sometimes, good is just right
Sometimes, best is necessary.
I've settled before, no big deal.
OH I get the best!! Also I thought you said do you like Seattle lol
Depends on the something we're referring to. I'll settle for a No.1 Phillips when what I really need for the job is a No.2 and I'll settle for a generic ingredient if the store's out of the recipe's preference.
I won't settle for a car with no brakes just because I need to travel a further distance than I'd prefer on foot.
So yes and no...
Settle today look again tomorrow.
In my personal, love relationship - Do not settle! Only the best will do. I waited decades to find my true love, my wife, and then everything else falls into place.
And there are a few things where I have a preference and the cost difference is relatively small - so I go with preference. [Jif peanut butter vs everything else for example.]
We are blessed with so many choices for everything. I try to find the best while staying in budget or do without.
Well how about that, we agree on something :)
Hey Fork - very cool! Maybe it's our combined commitment to quality that causes occasional rifts. I'm not saying that we're potential room mates or something, but I think we do agree on some stuff, but there are some topics we're polar opposites.
I'm glad we can come together on some stuff - and that I have a smart person to disagree with once in a while!
It IS the only peanut butter
AGAIN we agree! Carla, people are gonna start talking!
I agree - creamy Jif. Somehow we've gotten into the habit of smearing a bit of peanut butter on chews for the pups. They're like pacifiers for them - keeps 'em busy a long time. Between that and regular PBJ's, we go through a lot of peanut butter.
The whole concept of peanut butter is somewhat confusing to most of us, living on this side of the pond. I guess cultural differences do come in many forms and tastes. ;o)
No kidding? No peanut butter in Finland?
Have you ever had an opportunity to try it?
Yes, I have. Back in the days, when I was spending some quality time in Texas. I don't remember much, so it must have been a traumatic experience. That or roofies.
It's something I haven't given much thought to. Cultural difference I suppose - like you said.
More for me!
Well, I could probably get some flavor from the shops, but I like beef jerky better... ;)
I like beef jerky too, usually with a beer. I have PBJ in the morning with milk. I don't think I could switch up to jerky and beer for breakfast. Maybe 30-40 years ago, but not now.
No peanut butter?
We do share other things, though.
Way worse than peanut butter... Some of them have names and mustaches.
In love I don't settle; in other things I sometimes do...
I mostly settle. :P
