Having and exercising good manners involves many personal qualities, but most of all respect and regard (love?) for fellow humans.
Good manners is something that will never go out of style.
I was raised to say Please and Thank ya, to say Yes sir/No sir or Yes Ma'am/No Ma'am, to hold the door open for others, to be considerate of other people's feelings.
I don't think love has to be involved in it though. People can and do show manners for people that they barely know.
