Wouldn't it be great if you didn't have to worry about your account being deleted if you became inactive?
I agree they shouldn't because people have lives offline and can't always get online.
I know, it's weird. Fortunately, not all of them do that!
I think if they did, they could keep more users
They should certainly be easier to reinstate. But it does protect your account from being compromised, dormant accounts aren't very safe...
We sometimes just don't remember them all.I hate I lost some email accounts and since i don't use a cell phone i can't reactivate them.
I agree. We all experience some down time at some point. If the site is still operational when you return, your account should be too.
I agree, but at the same time I'd like to be able to sort the people I am following by the last time they were active.
I support deactivation, not termination. If your account is deactivated after a certain time period, you have the option of reactivating it, though I will say that both active and inactive accounts are vulnerable, as some of my active accounts were compromised in the past, even when I was logged in, whilst my inactive ones (albeit not deactivated by the websites) weren't. I create strong passwords and reset them every few times a year.
If I was no longer using that social media site, I wouldn't want my profile to still be on there. Especially if it was something stupid I created 10 years ago, I would actually be grateful they deleted it.
Anyway, it's a chance to start afresh :-)
Well, I mean I guess I COULD agree with that but i still think they shouldn't remove it all the time.
