democratic socialism is still socialism and still takes away money and freedoms of those who work hard to earn it to give to those who did not do a single thing to earn it
Agree! And you still have your 'haves' (party members) and 'have nots' (everyone else). Bernie and his kind talk the talk but do NOT walk the walk. Why would anyone need multiple homes when we have veterans living on the street? Why would anyone need multiple vehicles when we have people who can't even afford a bus ticket? Under the 'socialism' the progressive left want, this would not change as long as you are a 'have.'
Interesting concept. Where does your knowledge of Socialism come from?
Is it from the same place as your knowledge of Bernie Sanders?
Capitalism is akin to imperialism, corporatism, and slave ownership no matter how conservatives sugar coat it.
Thank goodness we can have degrees of both because sometimes it makes sense to control monopolies and sometimes it makes sense to reduce regulations; sometimes it makes sense to encourage self reliance and other times it makes sense to feed starving people.
can never give any facts can you? corporatism is closer to communism/socialism, THAT is fact, you should really do more research before saying stupid crap like that. capitalism is private ownership, NO GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT, corporatism is government controlling our lives aka SOCIALISM!
and the more socialist a country goes the closer to destruction they go, look at greece,or venezuella or any other socialist country, their debt is HUGE and they wind up collapsing some time or another. that is also fact.
Government and big business are intertwined. What facts do you need? That relationship is undeniable.
For one thing, facts need to be capitalized (pun intended). GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS ARE INTERTWINED.
YES THEY ARE, and that is CALLED SOCIALISM! NOT capitalism, if we had real capitalism then government and business would NOT BE intertwined.
your problem is your blaming capitalism for what is really socialism, if government is involved it is NOT capitalism. how many different ways do I need to say that so it goes through you liberals thick skulls? seriously, its not rocket science
So it sounds like you think if laissez faire could somehow be a real thing all of mankind's problems would melt into a caveat emptor puddle of love.
I'll leave it up to you to re-read The Theory of Moral Sentiments
laissez faire is the best way. government screws everything they touch up, best they keep their hands off what should be PRIVATE
I for one am glad we have a mixed economy. I know enough about human nature to know that complete laissez-faire is not a desirable thing. Without laws and regulations corporations would be free to poison the environment (there would be no economic cost of doing so) and workers would be end up being exploited.
We might end up more freedoms, but what good are freedoms when you're in no position to use them?
Good comment phil
