I agree, but it didn't just start. There have been 7,995 strikes in Syria in the last 3 years. Here are a couple sources: https://www.thebureauinvestigat...ikes-than-bush https://airwars.org/
If a liberal progressive president had done the same thing, you would be singing his praises.
You wanna bitch about killing innocents? Call out Syria itself!
The airstrike was on a military base. Military targets are fair game.
Am I missing something or are we the only non-liberals left here?
You guys all left me with the Jackals! They ganged up on me and beat me up! jk Hit that post just above your comment and help a brother out.
Jerry..... I still have to work, and have a job.....which means I'm a conservative. <s> It also means that I can't be here that much. <s>
Those of us conservatives who aren't retired Jerry, still have to work. :)
As do I. I just make my own hours, mostly. People make appointments and I keep my schedule flexible so that people who work can come in during hours that they don't have to work.
You're one of the lucky ones Jerry. <s> My office is on a military installation with no windows.
Man, I sure was glad to get out of the Army. WAY back in '85. We didn't see combat at all, only one tiny 12 hour mission to Grenada for the Marines. Reagan brought the most peace to the world of anyone in my lifetime, so why don't Liberals love him?
I was in from 72 - 2003 (with a break in there of a number of years to get an education and commission)
I think I've experienced 4 different military's.
The draft/viet nam era, the Reagan era of rebuilding the military, the post Reagan era of tearing down the military, and the Bush era of war in the Middle east. The Reagan years were the best.
Too bad I was busy partying every chance I got; I could have gained a lot more from it.
You were in at a good time...<s>
I know, I'm all over the place. One thought just leads to the next.
Could be Jerry. Maybe people are on Spring breaks or something.
Between us and plain old common sense - we've got this covered!
Have a nice Easter Jerry!
Back at ya Bud. Every time I say something or put up a post with a conservative twist, I'm bombarded by liberals with no support.
I'm usually on 8-4 M-F EST
Let me know if you want / need backup.
Oh, i know it didnt.
But when we strike by a kneejerk response to killed innocents, that being stated as the sole purpose, then kill innocents just days later?
I find that unacceptable
I said specifically on a thread, that assad needed ousted.
Where has your outrage been in the 4 months i have been here?
The only anger i have heard is in reference to incoming refugees.
As for womens rights? Images and comments have been thrown my way here in the past.
I cannot help women in those nations. I have said that before, too. Am i outraged by it, yes. As i am certain many women there would be outraged by me.
The hypocrisy lies in the white house.
He is calling himself flexible
I am calling him incompetent
It's as if they're all anti-American. Only we can be wrong and anyone against us must be right. They're making me sick Ranger.
I have a question...... I often read posts, or responses about killing innocents, or civilians and how bad it is. The question I have, and always have had, back to the Viet Nam days, is, what makes a civilians life more valuable or more tragic when it is taken as opposed to a soldiers life? Both have families, including children. Neither, with a few exceptions of a small number of civilians AND military, want to be in a combat zone. Contrary to some beliefs, a soldier feels the same pain and bleeds the same color of blood when he or she is dying. Soldiers are not machines. They are the kids who grew up next door to you.
I knew people who were there.
They should never have been
It seems we learned little from it all
We rarely "learn" anything from war other than how to fight wars better. Unfortunately, there has always been war, and there always will be. There will always be those who want what others have, or want others to believe the way they demand. It sucks when you are the one who has to write the letter to their parents of family telling them of their son's last days.
Makes me sad for the world
Jane F, is that you masquerading as Carla?
They used the draft still in VietNam, so how would you tell those young boys to not show up for their duties? My brother and a lot of friend's name is on that wall so please STFU.
I guess those images of the gassed little babies in Syria is ok to you? That was a test of the American resolve and Trump handled it appropriately IMHO.
I am sorry for your loss
I get that, jim. But a soldier understands the risks. Even if drafted, they are trained, usually, and i think mentaly a bit more prepared.
Granted we have been trained Carla, (some have very little training) and we know the risks but that doesn't make it easier. Look at my list of the numbers who died. almost 40 thousand were under 22. You and I have lived a few more years than that, and how many 22 year olds are very far removed from being innocents. I don't think anyone 18 - 22 is mentally prepared to die.
No, they are not.
But that is who we throw into combat.
And those are the ones that still have to register.....just in case.
I read your numbers
I have seen them before.
When does it stop, jim?
How long do we stay there, cleaning a smudge off of a mirror painted black?
Sadly Carla, history has shown us it will never stop. All we can do to stop war, is to make it too costly for an adversary to want to fight us. (Both in lives and in money)
War is hell. I'm so afraid we are heading for World War III. We have a leader who doesn't know what is involved so he's out there bullying other countries. And thinks they will back down.....they won't Mr. Trump, and our world as we know it will be gone.
It is a very sad situation. I have great difficulty watching this stuff.
And now, It's Miller time.
