Depends on the reason for blocking. I'd disagree if harassment was the only reason people block...but it's not. People easily block just as a knee jerk reaction to not liking what the person said. In that case I'd say you are correct.
I may not like what some people have to say, but as long as they are not attacking or trolling me, I have no problem with them. There are many that I disagree with politically, but really enjoy their comments and posts on other topics. I currently have no one blocked and how it stays that way, but I am glad I have that tool for if I felt the need to use it.
One reason I have blocked was for my own sanity. Only so much bullshit I can put up with even if I do have the patience of a saint. Sometimes I have blocked not for my benefit but the other users because once I started ed I couldn't get my mouth to stop but that is rare. I don't feel guilty about hitting the block button now and never will.
I agree. Disagreeing is not a reason for blocking but some people seem to do it.
Correction: only my opinion matters...:)
Ive never thought of it that way. You're so wise.
That's the whole point of blocking. I don't want to see or hear from that person again.
I've been blocked by a couple people. It's actually quite nice. I don't have to see their BS comments anymore. Of course they probably come to the site without logging on so they can see the posts of all those they have blocked.. LOL
It works out conveniently..
Nothing better than blocking myself from negativity.
I'm fine with that.
Sure. But making that choice means that, for that person, it's worth it
I have never and will never block anybody. I love the opportunity for a real fight. Not about to let that go to waste. :)
They don't need my presence.
