It's not physically addictive but you can become mentally addicted to anything: gambling, video games, porn, this place, pot.
...porn and video games are addictive?
I remember playing Battlefield 2 online years ago and looking at the guys that had the world number one slots. They were averaging 18 hours a day every day for two years to get to that point. I'm thinking either they're addicted or they are just trapped in their basements and can't leave
That's how some people choose to live their lives...
I personally prefer Battlefield 4, tho : )
I've actually never played the newer ones... I'm sure i'm missing out :)
I've been renting new games from Redox when I don't have anything to do for a weekend. Much cheaper than $60 and I can usually finish the campaign part for most in that time.
Lookin forward to when Battlefield 1 (which, oddly enough, is the newest one) and Titanfall 2 are closer to $20 to buy... : )
Thanks! I always like to see what others play and then check them out to see if they'll suit me. I'm more RPG these days but I'm open to anything... and yes price is definitely a factor :)
Men can be addictive....
I've never had that problem. : )
Anything that people have the potential for people to become obsessed is.
Yes and no. It's not addictive in the way cocaine or nicotine is, but if you use it chronically, your body gets adapted to it, so quitting does involve some discomfort.
They call it a psychological addiction, because unlike other drugs that you might use in spite of the fact you've come to hate them, chronic users tend to find life more tolerable with cannabis than without.
Since it has a calming effect, quitting a chronic habit can make you irritable for a while, it's also common to have a night or 2 where it's hard to get to sleep. Other than that, it treats a variety of illnesses and degenerative health conditions, so quitting can lead to those issues cropping up. For that reason, you should eat a healthy diet when you quit. I mean, you should eat well anyway, but it's especially important after quitting weed.
haha!! chronic users.... : )
But you're right. Every time I quit, there would be a couple days where I'd be like sigh "I miss you Mary..." Then it's all good. But once I pass the drug test (after eating a pound of asparagus the night before because it's funny) it's game on again. : )
(Chronic is a slang term for mj, btw. That's why I laughed)
Why do you quit?? It sounds like it's a good thing...from what Maze is saying...
And from what Carla and azlotto are saying below...
Because it takes about 30 days before you can pass a drug test, depending on body type and amount you consume.
I quit to find a better job and/or keep the one I had in case of a random test. : )
But it's soooo much healthier.
No!! They must do random drug tests in the States...like why? If there is no problem with cannabis... I mean...we're in the process of legalizing it here...
soooo much healthier. Like...with or without grass?
Why? I don't make the rules... but I think it's for insurance purposes? I just try to not go to jail, get fired or not hired : )
It's healthier in every aspect.... when compared to everything else. There are 50,000 known uses for this plant... and zero deaths.
50,000 known uses...wow...
I just got the news that I'll be vaping it soon... I'm excited....
Go easy at first. Take a tug and then wait. : )
But yah... it can be used for quite literally everything.
Thank you... They've got me on a regimen...
Of course...if you're interested in herbology...there are many minerals/herbs that are effective in many ways...
Like lithium for example...how come no one talks about lithium...but there are others...
Nope. I think you like it or you don't. Personally it just puts me to sleep so I have no use for it.
I'd say more habit forming than addictive. I've quit multiple times and never went through any sort of withdrawal.
Yes. If you're a person prone to addictions, you can become addicted to marijuana. You can also become addicted to junk food, soda, video games, etc...
No, I do not.
No......it isnt. Ive smoked off and on for over 40 years. Never had ill effects when i wasnt smoking. Just bummed that i wasnt smoking:].
No way, I've been smoking it every day for about 30 years...I'm not addicted.
CBD is amazing but it's more for medicinal purposes. It doesn't get you stoned, that would be the THC strains.
Seizures, sprains, arthritis, blood pressure... pretty much everything. : ) But you can buy it in stores over there?
I do not believe it is physically addictive. However if you have the right brain chemistry anything can become addictive. Sex, gambling, food, etc...
That's going to be part of another post: Do you have an Addictive personality?...and Help! What to do about it?
Thankfully I do not! If I did I surely would have died sometime in the mid 1980s.
I'd say it's somewhat "addictive", just like anything else that makes people feel better somehow. I do not, however, think it's a necessarily harmful or physical sort of so-called addiction.
It's nice to read that people are giving me their opinions instead of coughing up links to other sources....
