It's so nice to know we're cared about.
What's your complaint Trooper? Were you planning on storing passwords and credit information here?
No complaint, just making people aware that their user name and password are unsecured.
I found it interesting, figured others would as well.
Thanks for the heads up!
I guess I'll need to store my private stuff on Facechat or Snapbook!
I don't think it's a matter of users' storing information, but rather that amirite's data storage isn't secure.
Nope, and I don't see a reason why they should be. This place is free fun.
That's a risk we take everywhere online. I don't use my real info to sign up on sites like this anyway, nor do I use a password even remotely similar to those which I use for the transfer of actual personal info online, nor do I access this or sites like this from devices that have personal info stored on them. Security helps too, one can still get in and a few have from time to time, stuff can still get through, but I know about it immediately. And that's a pretty significant disappointment, all that risk and no reward?
Course, people so dumb that they'd risk it all over some stupid bs here tend to be careless and sloppy. They're never as clever as they think and it always catches up to them.
Example: "SkinnyMojo" on SH.
All Passwords are encrypted and not visible to anyone.
The above is just via https encryption which is mainly used by banks and financial institutions etc. Amirite has other ways of ensuring user safety - so nothing to worry about!
Just telling you what the error message said.
Welcome back, by the way.
What Budwick asked. Amirite is essentially social media with conversation, what you choose to divulge should be considered public.
That's a good reason to use multiple passwords. I half expect my ID and password, along with my personal information, will be (has been) compromised on a site like this.
I have been seeing that a lot on websites lately
