I find them very interesting
I think it's wonderfully interesting. I've spent the past 30 years of my career working with Geological & Planetary Sciences faculty. I love to hang out in the gem room ... it's a gorgeous rock collection.
Not geeky at all; very interesting.
My brother has a 55 gallon drum full of rocks. He polishes them for jewelry. Here is a cabachon malachite, which is an ore of copper from Arizona. ("Cabachon" refers to the shape.)
For some reason, an image just does not reproduce the intense green of malachite.
I've seen it and it's lovely...
Yes...you were saying you hoped he didn't pass away and leave you all his rocks...
I enjoy certain rocks.
as do I...even tho they've gone down in value...oh hey...love that type of bling.
No such a thing as too geeky..
Don't have one myself...Granite..that's your choice..
I'd love to have granite counter tops...but I hear Quartz is good and better.... Of course if you have the dough...nothin is stopping you from getting Carrera marble.
Or you could get it made of silver....No chance for bacteria..
Ha...might as well go for the marble. Silver tarnishes.
That's the maids problem..
Darling! You're so right.
Geeky? That's a compliment!
interesting, of course.
Oh, wait... were you talking about MINERAL rocks...?
mind: gutter...out of...
I have JUST the solution...
Oh Sukie, I'm SO very glad
That my lim'rick has pleased you a tad.
These versified spasms
Are MUCH like orgasms—
Some better, but NONE of them BAD.
I didn't know
You would bestow

Perhaps I'll ask someone to give you the link.
A good friend of mine (a self-made geologist) has a rock collection....He is 69 years old and climbs cliffs (mountains) with people half his age...He has written several books (including one that is used as a training manual for armed forces around the world)..And his girlfriend is in her 20s... I think he is very interesting.
Did I mention his girlfriend is hot?
Nerd? I don't think so.
I speak only the truth, but beware of those that claim the same.
Stories like that are always intriguing...
