I own cats...well I should say they own me
I'm very fond of both dogs and cats. Which "pet" is // best//, depends on the individual animal and the person who shares their heart and home with them, for sure.
More of a Cat person myself.
Dogs are great. I am of the opinion that dogs need several acres to run about in...which is one reason why I've chosen ferrets, or cats over dogs.
I agree, I'm not a cat person at all.
I knew you liked us K9s
It's just a fact. A dog is a companion, a protector and a friend.
When was the last time you heard of a cat chasing away a burglar, or saving someone's life?
I have heard about a cat chasing away a burglar... the owners were interviewed and basically said he (the cat) is an "grumpy ol tosser" and "wanker"
The owners were from Britain but living in the US... and the owners clearly lovingly thought their cat a HUGE A-hole to everyone but somehow loved him... and were very happy that for one his brash/rude/jerky attitude (at least my understanding of the strange British terms they were using) finally paid off in their favor.
Also I've seen video of where a couple were cleaning up the dishes and suddenly noticed a very young (but huge) brown bear in their backyard and got scared for their cat (who demands to be an outside at times and an alpha attitude), they suddenly went into a panic to find, grab and get their cat back inside.... and it turns out... the cat attacked and went after the young bear and chased the bear up a tree!
Also cats have protected against A-hole dogs as well... I save a video where a neighbors dog (for what ever reason) decided to take a young child off his low rider bike, by grabbing his collar and yanking, scaring the mother like hell... but before the mother could react their cat FULL CHARGED that dog and clearly chased him off... and the mother called the police as the dog went after he kid and was calling the cat the hero.
So while I'm very pro-K9s, there are also a few times when cats can be useful or not a pain
Yeah Seonag posted the video below
Cats can be pretty protective.

Thanks for posting that, I was looking for that.
Jackson Galaxy's "My Cat from Hell" show recently featured this cat and family on the "My Cat from Heaven" segment.
Is he trying to help?
I just lost my best friend of twelve years. He was there thru all of my health problems. When I was bedridden for two weeks, he never left my side. We have recently adopted another deserving guy from the pound. I'm learning to bond with him. I think when it comes to unconditional love. Dogs are the best😊
Know how you feel. Lost ours a few months back. :(
I'm sorry for your loss. I still can't believe my guy is gone.
It's tough. We sometimes still expect to see her greet us at the door when we get home. The house just seems empty. It's missing something that is supposed to be here.
Raccoons are way better than dogs. Otters, squirrels and leopards are absolutely wonderful as well.
Squirrels aren't good pets... they bite their owners... a lot.
I always bite back and that works.
Hey if it works for you
I had dogs all my life. There is no better friend.
While, I agree dogs make great pets, so do cats. We have two. One is a typical 'stand-offish' cat who demands affection only on her schedule, while the other follows us around, yaps at us, and is willing to be loved on at all times. One advantage with cats, is you don't have to walk them in the rain & snow!
