Thanks John, that's a good point. I think I will take some chill pills then..!
Yes reverse psychology can be a wonderful tool - maybe I should try that. I just wish I believed I had something to look forward to in death, then I might not fear it as much.
Thank you, I appreciate that. I will try and visualise those things thanks!
Haha if only I had some
It has entered my mind before, but I don't dwell on it. Every night when I go to bed, I wonder if I will wake up....it's not a worry, just a thought I have.
Just a passing thought then?
Yes, but I have the same thoughts when driving. Things happen, worrying won't help. Have a nice trip.
I see. Yes that's true, a good point. I will thanks! :-)
I've had more close calls in a car than in a plane.
Yes I guess I have as well, and I don't fear driving 🤔
I don't fear driving, but if going on a long trip, I would rather fly....
Oh yes driving for hours would be far more dangerous..!
I understand your concern. Sorry - that's all I got.
I appreciate your comment all the same :-)
I have a little at times in the past, but mostly have become fatalistic over time. Getting a little anxious before a trip is totally normal.
Yes I guess it's important not to over-think these things.. or else we'd never go anywhere. Thanks
I travel a lot with my job but I still have anxiety about flying. (I am more nervous about the flight to get to the Middle East than I am about what I have to do once I get there) What has helped is concentrating on what I am going to do during the flight such as music i want to take along, a book I plan on reading, etc. I start reading the book a few days prior to leaving so I am already "into it", when I hit the airport.
Ive flown cross country, but not over the ocean. I get your anxiety. I prefer to drive, when i can. I feel in control.
Good silencing ear phones, a good book, favorite tunes and good drugs.
When you get where you're headed, livi, i hope you thoroughly enjoy yourself:)
Trust your intuition. That doesn't mean you should give in to idle paranoia or dwell on the negative, but if you feel a strong impulse about something, you shouldn't disregard it.
Aw sorry to hear that. You'll be fine! I flew over Iraq, the first commercial flight after the Gulf War i wasn't scared, even seeing all the oil well fires below and being shrouded in total blackness from the smoke. Flying these days has never been safer :)
