Happy Birthday, President Trump, you are now under federal investigation for obstruction of justice.
He wont be charged, starz. It is a stretch.
What he did was inappropriate. But, many things he does, are.
It will take the republicans to turn on him. Until/unless something blatant comes out,or his approval rating threatens reelections, i dont see that happening.
You're probably right, but at least he's being investigated for good cause. Therefore, he won't be able to serve another term.
Honestly after politicians get to a certain level, I start assuming that they won't be punished even if you can prove that they're guilty.
There are numerous cases on both major parties and where if they're high position of office, nothing happens to them, unless you can absolutely prove it... and if you can absolutely prove it... the worse thing that happens is that they have to step down from political office and pay a fine.
Trump is an interesting case, because he didn't work his way up the political ladder and therefore could be different. .. but I doubt it.
He'll probably get a pass like all the top politicians ... sadly it's what happens.
He might be the first one....remember Nixon thought he was above the law, but he was forced to resign, even his own party turned against him.
Yeah but Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon, so other than stepping down out of office, Nixon wasn't really punished either (other than his name becoming Mudd)
(FYI, that saying is about Dr. Samuel Mudd... and not Mud/Dirt for anyone that doesn't know, I just like odd bits of trivia)
My point is that, other than being forced to step down... they're not really punished any after that other than maybe a fine. Even when a normal person would be locked up for a long time... they're not. Just pay a fine and/or drop out of politics and they're free to go
But you are right, there is a chance... if it's bad enough... the Republicans could turn on him.
Nixon left in disgrace. And you're right there was no punishment but at least he was out of office, and that's what needs to happen to Trump. He needs to be ousted from office before he completely destroys our country.
Already there are some Republicans that are saying let the investigations continue, and others are remaining quiet. So people are waking up to this man.
I think Trump would hate being kicked out... but I think he might love being official out of politics, without people trying to keep him in line anymore.
And Starz would be happy too Win-win JK. As Trump would hate being kicked out.
Though, I doubt liberals would like Mike Pence either, as he's extremely conservative, but at least the process is running normally.
He would hate not being the center of attention anymore. He's not used to losing. lol
He is potus and cannot not be indicted. Only if he is impeached then tried by the senate. With a republican majority, that is unlikely
And even the Republican senate doesn't like him that much.
It will be interesting if the FB I goes after him, because most of the Congress people, know the FBIs guy better and trust them more... and Trump has less connection than say Hillary Clinton.
But as I said above, after they get a certain height, it seems like nothing happens.
This was bound to happen and it won't stop. How long for ppl to really notice is the question. How long for ppl to really care and put a stop to it is another question.
The main focus is/are his decisions. If he starts/continues to make bad decisions that cost people lives and/or money...that is when ppl will sit up and take notice.
He hasn't accomplished one thing since being in office, whether he is brought up on charges or not is yet to be seen.
You should google...trump and organized crime.
Some of the things he has skated on has him emboldened to think he can do as he pleases. At this rate, he may be correct. Cash is king....
I know, he's been involved with some very unsavory mob like guys when he was in the casino business, guys that would break your knees if you crossed them. Trump thinks he can do whatever he wants, but I think he's in for a big surprise.
If people want to stay at one of Trumps hotels just for the bragging rights, that's not corruption.
Presidents spend money, this is not something Trump came up with.
Oh, Trump goes golfing on the weekends. Gee, I guess I must be corrupted too.
There hasn't been any corruption.
Who's to say they're not both real criminals?
I honestly don't get this either/or BS that political people get into when the politicians on both sides are doing (mostly) the same BS... and blaming the other when all the sides are pretty dang clearly guilty of similar or the same actions.
And there it comes... instead of staying on issues. .. goes into the political death roll... of if you're taking one of mine, I'm taking two of theirs and insulting them to boot...
It's really sad that has become the norm for American politics... (ps, yes I know the liberals do the same, but two from don't make a right)
Hillary is not president Trump is. There were all kinds of investigations about Hillary and nothing was found, so you might get off of that schick and face reality.
I think that this frivolous investigation is going to backfire on the Democrats.
