Well, I don't live in Michigan, but why not. Al Franken won in Minnesota. Christ, just look at some of the current people in office and the stupid things they do and say. :)
I know quite a few here who'll support him, I'm kinda hoping he runs.
What I know of him, I like him much better than a lot that are in office. Against Stabenow - in a heartbeat he'd get my vote.
"Real politicians"? You mean like the ones who brought us to where we are today? He may be a lot of things, but I do not think Richie is stupid. He has a pretty solid reputation in my hometown, where he has a home.
Depends on who he was running against.
If he runs and gets the Republican nomination, he will face off against Debbie Stabenow.
If it was an election I could vote in, sure I'd vote for him then. Since I'm in Colorado, that can't happen.
I'm not that familiar but I did want to support your post.
Thank you, Sukie. :)
I need to hear more from him politically before I can possibly know.
Of course...I know he is of a libertarian bent, though Jerry.
Then he's probably on my team.
I'd vote for him now over Stabenow. He has a home in my hometown, so I have a bit of insight into his off-stage persona.
At any rate, it would make for an interesting mid-term election.
As you well know, Republicans claim to be less for big government than Democrats. That's why my Libertarinism leans to the right but most Republican politicians are just full of shit and love big Uncle Sam just as much as the Dems do. That's why I voted for Trump. Just because he wasn't a politician. Our Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, was a complete joke and acted as if winning the presidency was the last thing that he ever wanted in the last election. He just wasn't serious at all; he thinks it's a big joke to have fun with.
I AM libertarian. That really has nothing to do with the party, though. (JMHO) I am not looking for a "politician"...I'm looking for someone who represents what I believe. Rs and Ds...just different cheeks on the same ass is all. Again...JMHO
Do you think that Gary Johnson accurately represents Libertarianism? He was so weak on the border that I couldn't believe it. Where is my Ron Paul?
Honestly Jerry, I think it is nearly impossible for anyone to truly "represent" libertarianism . It is - by definition - almost unrepresentable. RP was probably as close as we will come in our lifetimes.
I hope you're wrong.
Why? My idea of "freedom" surely differs from yours. I do not want someone to represent exactly what I desire in outcomes, per se, but in the ideology of "freedom" I espouse...which just might gift me with things I do not personally desire. That is a part of living in any society. My only real desire regarding said society is that I participate voluntarily.
Why? I just bought into Ron Paul's message. That's what I want, what he said in his presidential campaign.
RP's message wasn't a platform, it was a way of life.
It should be the way of our nation.
I'd definitely vote for the Motor City Madman though.
Nugent gets a lot of press. I'd be more apt to vote KR than Nugent, though.
Not me, metalhead here. He's a hero from my childhood. BUT KR might be able to change my mind. He needs to convince me.
I agree with Nugent on gun control. I cannot say I agree with him on everything, though, as I do not know his stance on other things. Things KR does resonate with me, like his support of our troops, both overseas and beyond, his ticket price campaigns, his support of local businesses...I'd still want a bigger picture, but he just comes across as a pretty good guy.
Honestly, it's hard for me to not completely discount Kid Rock as a politician. But.. I would listen to what he has to say.
If I lived in Michigan, I would.
