The funniest books (that I can think of right now) I've read are the James Herriot series about the Vet. (That's veterinarian) These books decribe life in the country in the early 1900s...and are hilarious and delightful...especially for animal lovers...

@primeiro Thank you for joining. :) Seems interesting. I hadn't heard of it before.

If you love animals...and ppl...these books will have you shaking with laughter right away.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy".

I thought the Money Pit was hilarious.

@JanHaskell I thought the Money Pit was hilarious.

I haven't watched that one. Thank you for joining. :)

Right now it's Last Man Standing that we find hilarious. We also liked Corner Gas and Are you Being Served. We will always stop to watch My cousin Vinny when it comes on.

What is funny about my line up is that one is American, one is from Britain and Corner Gas was from Canada.
I'm not familiar with Rat Race. I think I tried to watch Spaceballs but was distracted and never got back to it.

@Sukiesnow At least someone likes Corner Gas... It got quite popular...and also the Red Green show...

Yes, we really enjoyed it. It was like a very subtle "Friends" and we didn't even watch Friends.

One book would be A Confederacy of Dunces. One movie that comes to mind is the (2002) My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

There were (are) quite a few hilarious movies and books, and some great classics.

For the movies, we all remember the slapstick movies with Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Brothers, etc., etc. (not always respectful, but so funny.

And also later on, some hilarious parodies were a delight. It is really difficult to make a pick.

Right now, I am thinking of "The Gods Must Be Crazy":

Never saw "The Gods Must Be Crazy", but seems funny from Wikipedia's description. :P

Right now I'm remembering a movie called "Spaceballs". Have you seen it? It's a parody of Star Wars mixed with some other movies - I found it pretty hilarious.

Oh, and "Rat Race". Man, this one almost killed me from laughing.

No, unfortunately not, but I heard about both, and, regarding "Rat Race", I saw "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", for instance.

I'll have to look into Scavenger Hunt:

By the way, in the parody directed by Yves Robert, starring Pierre Richard and Mireille Darc, the heroes went to Rio:

Last but not least, do you remember the Hallelujah Trail?
(Watch out, everybody is being ridiculed, good and bad ones, abusers and abused, heroes and anti-heroes, predators and preys, including the addicts of alcohol on every side, ...):
