You can have a book printed for a measly couple of hundred anywhere.
But good for you. It must be a delight to see what you're written in print.
I'm not sure if people can objectively judge their own work since we tend to be either overcritical or too soft on ourselves. Publishers on the other hand have power over you since you're dependent on them.
