No. Not yet.
Did you have LifeLock before your identity was stolen?
No I didn't. But I sure do now! They already blocked someone trying to sell my e-mail address on the dark web! Best thing I ever did!
So, what's your excuse for not getting identity stolen? Well I mean not yet anyway.
What's my excuse? Dumb luck I guess.
Not my total identity, but have had 4 credit cards canceled and replaced in the last few years. They didn't cost me anything, but it's still a pain in the ass. Especially if you are traveling.
My husband has had his credit card hacked into twice, but the credit card company caught it ASAP. This last time someone charged $600 to his card at a racetrack down in Florida....
No but I have had 2 emails hacked which led to me not being able to access my computer...so I was forced to throw it out... This has caused me a lot of problems and still is....
You threw your computer out because your email was hacked?
Due to being hacked - I was on the phone with a hacker without realizing it - by the time I caught on it created such a mess that it locked my computer down. Thank goodness I managed to unplug my iPad just in time...it was a mess but after restoring the hard drive...it was somewhat resuscitatable, although I lost 2 emails - no actually 3.
In the news the next night...they mentioned a major hacker that was captured in Hamilton.
I haven't but to be honest I've nothing really to steal.
Sorry to hear it has happened to you though my friend.
I'm getting it worked out pretty good now. Thank you.
Yes. Someone stole and used my Discover credit card number...and the kicker is, I've never used that card...That makes me wonder if it was an employee of Discover.
No, I haven't and, hopefully, I never will. I hear it is very difficult to try and clear things up on your own.
Oh, it's a chore all right! All the calls and e-mails and no one seems to care. LifeLock does and I enrolled on it and feel much better.
Glad you're getting the help you need.
This LifeLock is great! FBI,FTC,Sheriff and credit companies haven't even made any acknowledgement.
I'm sorry this happened to you, but it's good that you have Lifelock.
I have heard horror stories about how bad it is to straighten out after identity theft. I signed up for the LifeLock program several years ago when I heard it adverised on the Rush Limbaugh show. I have had several occasions since then when LifeLock has informed me of identity theft attempts against me that were thwarted.
LifeLock is a great program. I've made all the reports that I was told to but we'll see if anyone does anything. I even found the guys name and address and gave it to all of them! It is a pain all right!
Not yet, but since we actually had Equifax 'watching our back' for the past 10 years and they NEVER notified us directly of the security breach/theft, except for noting it in small print on 9/12, the same day they changed their 'Agreement' (again no notification that was happening), we cancelled and are signing up with LifeLock.
My daughter had hers stolen when in college when they still used SS# as ID#. Fortunately that was caught fairly quickly, the fellow student had secured a drivers license in her home state in my daughter's name and used it to buy a new car, but failed to make payments. Fortunately, the dealer had photocopied the license and between the NJ police, OH police and GMC they tracked her down to her 'student job' in admissions, found the car on campus in OH, and she ended up doing hard time! GMC did clear the credit report very quickly.
