That sounds like quite the undertaking....
I always did figure there was something fake about Smuckers...
Most store bought jams are sugar bombs. No real flavor.
Grape is full forward, made at home.
And they use too much sugar.
I like some sugar...but not too much...as the fruit is sweet enough...I prefer some clear stevia...along with the sugar....
I've bought jams from Health Food stores...they are most made with honey...but that doesn't bring out the flavour of the fruit.
I use raw cane sugar and a sqeeze of lemon, and for grape, no pectin. Grapes have enough natural pectin on their own.
With a name like Smuckers, it has to be fake.))
Yes carla real food is so much better than the stuff you buy. Do you do apples also?
I make applesauce. I just do a bit at a time, though. No batches and canning. I enjoy fresh applesauce with pork.
I continue to get impressed with your abilities!!! :)
Ive had many inspirational people in my life.
And...i truly believe, if one has the proper tools, he/she can do most anything:)
You had me at maple syrup. Ha!
I remember making applesauce and apple crumble with my golden delicious fruit. Now my only option is buying them. I like to use them in smoothies, which aren’t laden with sugar as are the store-bought versions.
Great apples for crisps
Berries, fruits and vegetables, fresh from the garden: that reminds of wonderful moments of childhood with my grandmother.
