Simple Directions Playing around with my new iTouch, I decided to get directions to my son’s base from my home in Maryland. So I typed "Wahiawa, Hawaii." I got turn-by-turn directions until I hit the coast. Then I was told, "Kayak across the Pacific Ocean entering Hawaii." https://www.rd.com/joke/simple-directions-joke-2/

Simple Directions

Playing around with my new iTouch, I decided to get directions to my son’s base from my home in Maryland.

So I typed "Wahiawa, Hawaii." I got turn-by-turn directions until I hit the coast.

Then I was told, "Kayak across the Pacific Ocean entering Hawaii."

Lol, Rooster - this big shadow is one of the risks to expect, if you have to kayak to Hawaii.

Yes, that is very black humour - although it could be a basking shark, if looking at the size.

@Thinkerbell

Lol, it could be an exceptionally big one - or a basking shark.

I noticed that too, and suddenly, the page froze.

Yes, Dan might be doing some work on it - I hope so.

@2687459

I hope so.

There have been one or two things like this before.

Lol - SynysterGates, I have the impression that the fish is bigger than a tiger shark or the great white shark (and there might be still quite a distance to paddle till Hawaii):

Lol, SynysterGates, thank you for your information.

The picture is not clear enough to make the difference between an extremely big tiger, great white or basking shark, and the picture found on-line does not indicate where it was taken (it might not be near the Hawaiian coast), or if it was "photoshopped".

By the way, the basking shark is a cosmopolitan migratory species and can be found in "deeper waters" off the Hawaiian coasts:

Lol - that is indeed a frightening sight.

Lol, Zolfie - let's hope so; after all, it is a long, lomg way to paddle.

hehe smiliehehe smilie

@Marianne Lol, Thinkerbell - he seems to love paddling.

I'd post a picture of one of his paddlings, but it probably would get censored. hehe smilie

@Zolfie Not cool. This post upset me.

Sorry, Zolfie, we did not intend to upset you.

@Marianne Sorry, Zolfie, we did not intend to upset you...

It's all good, I know it was in the name of good fun. But at the same time, I have to make sure the wrong idea doesn't get out there.

@Zolfie It's all good, I know it was in the name of good fun. But at the same time, I have to make sure the wrong idea...

No, I thought simply that kayaking was your favourite sport.

I did not see any harm at first.

It is very difficult to know what's really inside the other person and how she or he evolves, even if we have the impression to know them "by heart".

To err is human, and good intentions can, sometimes cause disasters.

@Zolfie Not cool. This post upset me.

Is this the same Zolfie that made all kinds of innuendos about me and the 'Schatzi' waitress in the restaurant, and what fun it was to --- me?

Methinks the wolf can dish it out, but he can't take some lascivious kidding. biggrin smilie

@Thinkerbell Is this the same Zolfie that made all kinds of innuendos about me and the 'Schatzi' waitress in the restaurant, and...

The all kinds of innuendos went both ways. As for the waitress (which ever you're talking about) Did you did me you didn't like it? If so then maybe I screwed up.

I've asked you to chill a bit with the innuendos since it upset someone special to me (which you keep responding to with jokes of hide quarters). Almost all of your comments were funny...

But I disliked the comment about you having a censored picture of me, especially since it was to a naughty joke about me to a 3rd party, whom I don't know (well) and have no idea what they're thinking...

I'm simply telling you it bothered me... if I have done something to bother you in the past, then I'm sorry about that, if I learn what it is, then I'll try to not do it again.

@Thinkerbell Ok, I'm sorry I bothered you. I'll be more careful in the future.

Thank you, very much.

Like I said, I thought most of your comments were funny, but that one just caught me wrong. I don't want anyone thinking there are any naughty pictures of me.

Lol, Freeranger, yes, I admit that I have still a lot to learn in this biased world, all the more that mentalities in Europe are not quite the same as on your side of the "Big Pond" - and there are all these linguistical misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

Take, for instance, the false friends, which could interfere in British and US relationships:
https://thelanguagefactory.co.u...false-friends/

and with other languages, it can be even worse.

The same occurs with principles, rules and morality.
