Maybe people should find some class within themselves and not take pics/videos's in the first place, unless they want to be a porn star.
As if people have any class left, only a very few. So if they get caught hahaha on them
Common sense. If you don't want it shared with the world, don't put it on anything that connects to the internet, or can be hacked, including phones.
What happens when a tragedy takes place? Within hours, it seems like the FBI has your entire digital footprint captured. A good hacker can do the same.
And as we recently saw when Trump's Twitter account was deleted, tech employees are not above using their access for their own pettiness.
That's for sure. There will always be those $12 an hour techs who just want their 15 minutes of fame.
Yes Jim just wait till face book gets hacked and all the photos sent in are posted on line - just for fun.
I think the only real pic of me that exists online is my av here, which will be gone after tomorrow. I can't understand any rational reason people would post nude pics of themselves online.
Apparently the trial is being held in Australia so as long as they hire me to be the photo administrator everything will be fine :) Seriously though, why do people have nude photos of themselves that they have to actually store somewhere?
So a spouse can look back at them 40 years later and remember just what the attraction was.
They more likely will divorced in 40 years.
HA HA HA!
It is not for storage purposes, but so that FB can prevent exes from revenge posting.
I know that Boz... LOL I was just trying to justify why a couple might save some intimate moments...<s>
My reply was to Dallas, Jim, not your post. :)
Thanks you two for your replies, gosh my relationships are totally mild compared to others. This kind of thing never occurred to me
Not something I'd ever do either, but the net has introduced me to new and horrible things other people do.
Yes there's many things I happy not to know about
Yup...yet despite knowing better, I cannot help but search something referenced, even when forewarned. That reminds me...I'm running low on eye bleach...
I've not done it with photo's but I've done it with a couple of movies I was warned against seeing which I'd really like to unsee
I did it with slang terms. One of the worst immediately showed pictures in my search. The latest, thankfully, did not. (Note to self: add Brain Bleach to the shopping list.)
Actually you have to be careful with slang terms. Did you know that if you say search on something or someone and get normal pics, if you add the word "nude" at the end of it, you will get naked versions and a lot of porn too. It's just the way the filter is set up.
Yeah, I keep find that out. Lol
Nope. Can't say as I've ever searched for anyone's nude picture.
I have ended up on some strange searches and sites, though.
Lol no i don't either, but I used that as an example that any extra word will alter the safe filter. So normally your browser will block nudity or sex, but if you include those words at the end of the search it will turn the filter off. I was explaining that to some at work who thought their kids had a protected browsing environment, and I said only if they didn't know how to turn the filter off :)
Ah..gotcha. I don't use a filter and was not aware of that.
Really nothing new, when I was i HS guy took pictures of his girlfriend messing with a coke bottle, they broke up and he showed them all over the school. Girls need to keep clothing on and cameras shut off all the time.
The revenge aspect hasn't changed, the size of the audience has.
Pfffft. Stupid is as..... well you know the rest.
So....FB is encouraging users to message their nude photos to themselves for this 'trial'? I believe Will's gif that has now disappeared, was the most appropriate response to people sharing any nude or almost nude photos of themselves in any online venue. Not if they don't want unintended people seeing them, anyway.
I realize that pictures could still be shared online for revenge, but the chances are considerably less, I'd say.
I wouldn't know about that. Many people who aren't "idiots" have FB accounts for various reasons. Most of them don't post nude photos of themselves.
Uh huh, well, that's exactly why I chose to use the word "these" ... these people... these people to whom the OP refers as the ones who DO post nude photos, since that is the topic.
Never did I say ALL these people (on FB)
But I'll accept admonishment. I make a lot of mistakes. Thank you for the correction.
I believe the trial is voluntary, and has nothing to do with "these idiots' being in fear of losing their accounts.
"I wouldn't know about that" was neither an admonishment or a correction.
No, but your inference conclusion that I referred to everyone (various reasons) who has a FB account as an idiot WAS.
It's OK though, you can be right I know how important that is.
Will's gif is still there.
I can't see it anymore, I wonder what's up with that now, on my computer. :/
Do you have your profanity filter on?
No, and I obviously saw the gif. I've noticed other people saying they couldn't see an image or gif, but I've rarely had that happen, myself.
In the meantime...I agree with it!
You cannot be wrong here... I see it. HA HA HA! 😂
I'm ALWAYS wrong. You'd better look again.
Well Fuzzy...you are wrong in saying you are wrong this time.
As long as I'm wrong somehow, that keeps many happy.
"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one"
Nah, apparently just a few of us experienced not being able to see the gif anymore, for awhile there.
WhaAAt??? You mean that I actually see what I see , and that it is REAL, and it's OK?? I'm not WRONG to see what I see??
One more reason i'm glad i've never used Facebook..
On a more productive note...
Rite Aid is giving out free sunburns...with a purchase of sunburn lotion..
You can easily take a picture of the polaroid with a cellphone and upload that way, so those aren't any safer.
What was i thinking? The revenge part, i reckon.
It's all part of this sick thing we call the internet. It's a place where fragile people readily give advice that they don't take themselves. A place where someone else's life sucks as much as their own. It's a place where we can be anything we want to be. A place where we are capable of being an authority on all subjects.
I don't need, give or want nude photos. That way they can never be used, for or against.
Any further statement is TMI, reserved for SHE and I.
Fingerprints for nudie pics? Why post nudies in the first place?
It is supposed to combat others posting nudes of people, exes seeking revenge, for example.
C'mon Bo, you really think that will be the case? Do you believe everything they tell you to get you to give up your fingerprints or DNA? You are way too smart to believe that they will limit their scope there. Again, why allow the posting of nudie pics in the first place. Just don't allow it and there would be no revenges on anyone.
"Fingerprints" refers to the pictures, not a person's actual fingerprints. This isn't about publicly posting one's own nude pictures, it's about an ex getting revenge by posting pics taken privately. What part of my post has made you believe I've been fooled in any way, Ozzy???
Digital fingerprints of the pictures is what I understand so they can compare the pictures. OF course, there will have to be a group that will have to see the pictures in the first place. smh
Bo, why would they allow anyone to post nude pictures in the first place? Not asking that question is where, I believe, some are being fooled.
The AI can handle it, initially at least. That doesn't stop employees from looking or hackers from hacking.
What may or may not be posted is up to each site owner.
Oh what took them so long to think about that. People today probably think it is fine to be seen naked everyplace. Anything to get more attention.
Did you read the article, Lorraine? The purpose is to prevent pictures from being posted.
Tried to but I mostly go on what the question says.
What ever happened to suing the piss out of someone for doing that to you.
Nothing, but suing happens after the fact, and the idea here is to prevent them from being posted in the first place.
There is no way I'm giving FB one for the purpose of preventing a person from posting it on FB. Especially when you have no idea who has access to them.
You'd be 1 disgruntled employee away from having your naked self blasted out everywhere.
Anytime you have pictures of yourself taken naked or somewhere between you run the risk of them being seen especially in a digital format.
Your best protection is to not take those kinds of pictures.
Apparently you didn't catch the gist of my post?
Well maybe I didn't. I understand that the intent is to prevent pictures taken in private from being posted by someone seeking to cause you harm and embarrassment on FB.
All I know is that FB is the last place I'd be willing give a nude photo to for them to use in preventing this from occurring.
