Is it possible to edit one's comments/replies here on Amirite? If so how, if not, why not?

Can one edit one's comments here on Amirite?

Just a few minutes, but you can always delete your comment and repost.

@StarzAbove Just a few minutes, but you can always delete your comment and repost.

Thank you, Starz, sometimes I learn I'm not as smart as I think am...doing that would have taken more than the two working brain cells I have..:)

lol I've taken my down before, but copied it and changed it before I put it up again. It happens to all of us. lol

@StarzAbove You're welcome.

Now you see what happened, I didn't get back here in under 5 minutes and now the truth is out...I'm illiterate! I have to slow down to spell little words like 'your' ...:) cyc smiliecyc smilie

@StarzAbove No problem, just a typo, we all make them.

I didn't mean to cause so much upset, I can deal with the 5 minutes...I'll just take care from now on to spell right..biggrin smilie

Your comments, yes, briefly. Your posts, no, which irritates me.

I'm sure they have a logical reason for the 5 minute rule...right?..:( YouTube video thumbnail

I think it's about the origins of the site. First off, this used to be a pure opinion site, as the blue one would probably confirm, if he ever had any interest to communicate with us, the regular people. The questions side came far later. As the site is programmed with PHP, it's not really that difficult to change the five minute rule - just give a ridiculous number to it, like 9999 minutes, in which time most of us probably know, what the hell we are on about, if we even are on about anything.

For a limited time only.

Thank you, I appreciate your time..:)

If you're quick about it! It is annoying, to not be able fix a typo of some kind when you notice it too late. I think there is good reason for that though. People changing their comment or reply after it's been acknowledged and replied to, just isn't cool. Neither is deleting one's comment(s) along with replies, just because one doesn't like the response they get.

With an attitude like that...just go ahead and remove the comments...but first, what was it that you felt was personal?

Piper2, a very good reason, although I've never had that happen I'm sure there are those who would...maybe Amirite should add a spelling/grammar checker to the comment section...or something, or like Facebook if you edit/change your comment it shows that it's been done. Either way thanks for telling me.

I heard 5 minutes...I guess we'll just have to test it out one of these times. Thanks, Gun, for replying..:)

The Mods will help you do it...they have done it for me a few times when I misspelled or typed something that I didn't want to

It's the same for me...whenever I come here it seems people get upset about the slightest things...sorry I ever brought it up...

Thank you for the information, Recruit..Have a wonderful Thanksgiving..:)
