Yup this Italian surgeon wants to sever this guy's head then attach it to the body of a brain dead guy, making it technically a body transplant.

It will never happen.

@StarzAbove It will never happen.

Who knows, he might have already done it, the media is awfully quiet about this.

I think anything could be possible eventually, but could you imagine the psychological issues waking up with someone else's body? It's definitely something I would never consider.

Although imagine a brain transplant? A woman could have her brain put into a mans body and people would be astounded at how well he was suddenly able to communicate properly, although his need to shop while his friends went to the football might seem confusing hehe smilie

Never will successfully happen in the near future.

Transplant surgeries are unethical medical practice. The only ethical transplant surgeries that can be done are the corneal transplant and the blood transfusion which do not affect the donors. All other transplants affect the donors in some way or the other. Besides they are attendant with other social issues like corruption. Only the surgeons who venture into this kind of surgical feats become popular. Society needs to enact some legislation to control this misadventures.

Why is it unethical? In most cases the donors are deceased and dont need whatever is taken from them, living people get to live longer rather than die from organ failure.

Living donors do have some real risk. Kidney donors loose one kidney and face the prospects of serious problem if the one kidney gets affected. Also corruption is reported in kidney transplants, doctors colluding with racketeers. The prognosis also cannot be said to be that significant. Also the poor cannot afford the procedure.

In those cases being a donor is completely voluntary and there is a shortage of organs for everyone not only poor people.

Shortage of organs for everyone--Organs are not commodities available in the market, please understand.

There was a news article recently, about China... and how they arrest people JUST to harvest organs and for medical research.

It'll be a long time before they can pull that off...or stick it on.
