How do You Get This to Fly?

The Trump admin has just rolled back fuel efficiency requirements for auto makers.
How does wasting resources help America? Trump said it was a safety measure. People wouldn't drive so much and there would be fewer accidents. Do people actually buy this crap?

Yeah, we all know those upstanding oil company executives aren't concerned with profit, they are all about safety. They are doing the same thing with the FDA and our food, no more regulations, I guess it's just a coincidence there are so many recalls on food now.

@Flrdsgns Yeah, we all know those upstanding oil company executives aren't concerned with profit, they are all about safety...

They removed the requirement for meat labels to list where it's from.
They slip this stuff through while everyone is distracted by the latest tweet./

Another lame brained idea, only to do away with every thing President Obama put in place.

It's sad to say, but yet there are still some people that believe whatever lie comes out of Trump's mouth, and there are many.

Why not get rid of all regulation if all it does is stifle innovation and cost money?
So things like fraud, insider trading, false advertising, bait and switch wouldn't interfere with profit. They have you convinced all regulation is bad.
Is it good that coal mines can dump their toxic runoff into the water supply?

Trump is a symptom not the problem. the problem is the system.
Regulation doesn't stifle innovation Capitalism does.

Tesla's notes were confiscated because he wanted free energy for the entire planet and JP Morgan et al. wasn't about to let that happen so he pulled all funding and got his buddy Randolf Hearst to brand Tesla as a madman so nobody would work with him. One of the greatest minds in human history died penniless with his ideas suppressed so Morgan and his ilk could profit from his inventions.
How many other inventions are buried in the name of profit?

"The role of govt is to protect the minority of the opulent from the majority." That's James Madison, the architect of the constitution

Who do you think wants less efficient cars?
It's the same people who promote climate denial.
Obama was bad enough. Trump has taken environmental destruction to a whole new level.

@2800250

What does that have to do with emission standards?

American ingenuity is no different than ingenuity anywhere else. It's like American exceptionalism. It's a myth. Propaganda to support the status quo

It's a hat.
It's not made to fly.

President Trump should be commended for standing up for American consumers by reducing the regulatory burden placed unnecessarily on automakers.

The Obama standards were ridiculous - purposely. Make things tough on auto industry, keep people in older cars, make us more dependent on public transportation, move to cities - where we can be controlled more easily.

@Budwick President Trump should be commended for standing up for American consumers by reducing the regulatory burden placed...

You can't be serious. Standing up for consumers? By cutting mileage

regulatory burden placed "unnecessarily" on automakers?
Yeah, those poor automakers who just got a massive tax cut will suffer just because people want to be able to breathe something they can't see and not end life on the planet.
He wants to override Cal. standards. Where's the outrage over states rights?

It's all an Obama plot to keep people in older cars and in cities.

Right, it couldn't be because we need to stop burning FF.
We're in an unheard of global heat wave and you're still in climate denial. Temps in the Arctic have been recorded 60 degrees above normal.
Of 5 mass extinctions only one was caused by a meteor strike the other 4 were caused by elevated CO2 levels.
There is more carbon, in the form of methane, about to be released in the Arctic than was produced throughout the entire industrial revolution.

Half the coral reefs on the planet are dead. Most in the last 2 years.
Half the planet is flooded and the other half is in drought and the bees are dying.

But GM and Exxon's bottom line is what's really important.

My oh my - you get windy when retorting!

I'll address one of your BS paragraphs. We'll give everyone else a chance to tear at other topics you meandered off into.

HAve you noticed on local weather programs, them talking about cooler water in the Atlantic? Despite the Earth teetering on bursting into flame - the Atlantic is cold this year! Oh, and that is going to stifle a rampant hurricane season.

I am so sorry reality is pissing on your fantasy parade.

@Budwick My oh my - you get windy when retorting! I'll address one of your BS paragraphs. We'll give everyone else a...

Apparently you neglected to find out why the Atlantic is cooling.
It's the partial collapse of the oceanic convection system (AMOC) brought on by ice melt adding fresh water.
This cooling shows up in every climate model.

Nice try.

You better get your 'scientists' to all get on the same page.

From - https://www.ucsusa.org/global-w...l#.W2n76cInbbg

While hurricanes are a natural part of our climate system, recent research suggests that there has been an increase in intense hurricane activity in the North Atlantic since the 1970s. In the future, there may not necessarily be more hurricanes, but there will likely be more intense hurricanes that carry higher wind speeds and more precipitation as a result of global warming. The impacts of this trend are likely to be exacerbated by sea level rise and a growing population along coastlines.

@Budwick You better get your 'scientists' to all get on the same page. From -...

So how is that not the same page?
The only ones casting doubt on AGW are the tobacco industry scientists now working for the FF industry.

@urwutuis So how is that not the same page? The only ones casting doubt on AGW are the tobacco industry scientists now...

How not the same page?
One calling for more and more damaging hurricanes.
The other saying not so many hurricanes cuz of cold water.

You don't see the difference?
Maybe science which requires observation skills isn't your, ... forte.

@Budwick How not the same page? One calling for more and more damaging hurricanes. The other saying not so many hurricanes...

I see you still think personal attacks strengthen your position.
What other?

I can find articles that say the Earth is flat. That doesn't make it a debate.
Do a little research.

You think there's a global conspiracy of scientists after grant money rather than oil companies trying to keep the gravy train rolling.
Of course the FF industry would never lie, would they?
That's why they hired the tobacco industry scientists.
The merchants of doubt.

Uurwut, if you are in tune with the climate change thing, then you must be aware of the scandals regarding data tampering, evidence of collusion to support the ever changing climate change story.

Your team has destroyed their credibility. No one takes it seriously anymore.

Let's not forget too that climate has been changing ever since climate began.

And, what is the FF industry?

@Budwick Uurwut, if you are in tune with the climate change thing, then you must be aware of the scandals regarding data...

Yes I am and it's a load of crap. Oil propaganda.
Climategate was debunked a long time ago.

The climate has been changing but none of the natural processes account for what we see. And it's accelerating. The melting permafrost is releasing huge plumes of methane. That's some serious shit.

Just for the record. The #1 producer of greenhouse gas is factory farming.
