Only dictators lock up journalists, half of the country hates Trump so I think he's taking it well
He locked up journalists and destroyed their offices, if they spoke out against "his war".
Then that's on him
Not "Only dictators lock up journalists", is my point.
ANY government that thinks it can lock up its critics WILL do so.
You're right on that one, but still it's still a very tyrannic thing to do. Usually those who lock up reporters, journalists or any kind of news bringers have dirty laundry they dont want anyone to know about.
When that happens, America will have lost it's freedom, and we will be living under a dictatorship. Trump can't stand to hear the truth, that's why he attacks the press, the FBI, CIA, and even his AG....Jeff Sessions. And yet there are still some supporters who believe his lies....shameful.
Wake up America before it's too late. IMPEACH!
Then America lost it's freedom in the 1860's.
Lincoln locked up journalists and destroyed their offices, if they spoke out against "his war".
Really, that's the first I've heard of it....show me some proof.
a copy of Lincoln's Executive Order:
That is literally what Freedom of Speech goes against. Everyone has the freedom to give their opinion of their government without being attacked by them.
Yes-if you want to live in a country without freedom.
For saying negative things? No. For telling lies, about any thing or any one, to promote their personal agenda, Conservative OR liberal, yes. A free press, needs to be free, but also accountable for reporting the truth, objectively.
Now they're gonna come here and be like "you guys are just haters man hating hatey hate haters broski!! You hattah!! U jes hatin cuz u jelooose!" because they have no real comebacks to this. the Right wing has become a cult
Locked up for writing fiction? No.
The think is that journalists are presenting much of their fiction as news that is misleading the public and creating more chaos and confusion. There are specific sections of papers and news casts called editorials for speculative crap.
Plus, 'unnamed sources' seem to have an awful lot to say these days. I think we need to require corroboration of all stories - doubly so for anonymous baloney.
