I don't even remember if I had to use my own car in that driver's test when I was 16. It was a 1966 Mustang, if I did. Drove like a tank...wasn't even remotely "luxurious" in any sort of way. Loved that car.
In my state they wouldn't allow you to take the test in a car with the shift on the floor, so I had to do it in a Ford borrowed from a friend of my mother that I had never driven before. That made the parallel parking requirement a fun experience!
A 1993 model Honda Civic 1.6, in early June 1994. It was owned by the driving school.

A new 1963 Rambler. It was tiny so the parellel parjiubg was acinch, and it had an automatic transmission. Borrowed it from a family friend just for the test.
