Survived 9 years in S.E. Asia, so I really wouldn't need to plan. I know my survivalist strength. Fact of the matter is now I really don't care. What will be, will be.
Most people, particularly city dwellers:
Haven't got a "plan" at all, even one as lame as that.
Will either wait for authorities to save them or get in their vehicle and drive until they cannot get any gas and they run out.
Haven't got fishing gear and/or guns or the knowledge to use them. And wouldn't know what to do with anything even if they did kill something.
On the plus side, most with city water know enough to boil questionable water.
The dude is acting so smug..
What happens when those 5 million people that headed to the hills, figure out where he's at and start coming up with a plan to take him over?
Everybody has a plan.....until they get punched in the face.
By smug you meant fucking asshole, Amirite?
Yea... I was trying to cut down on typing. 😀
Nah, you're just too polite.
Yea, I'm cursed. lol
You are cursed, therefore I feel compelled to curse on your behalf.
I can appreciate that lol ...
"Everybody has a plan.....until they get punched in the face."
Lol...I guess so.
I've lived through two tornadoes and two divorces...The divorces costed me more money.
what is shtf?
It's an acronym for: Shit Hits The Fan.
I know i looked it up. Just never sure when people don't take time to type whole words.
"They have better YouTube videos and that."...Yes, there's a lot of great vids on this subject.
Preppers have high opinions of themselves, but their prepping is always just an extension of their hobby. Campers assume THTF means they will have to live in the wilderness for a while. Gardeners assume they will have to grow everything they eat. Gun collectors expect a firefight. Weekend warriors figure on sneaking through the bushes a lot.
"Preparedness" by definition depends on an unpredictable event. When a flood strikes you might need a boat or you might need a generator, but almost nobody has a stash of drinking water. So much for your "preparedness".
Walmart reports that when disaster strikes, the first commodities to run out are beer and strawberry Pop Tarts. Nobody offers any reason why those exact items are needed in an emergency, and nobody has a stash of them. So much for "preparedness".
Oh, and the only reason you are going to need guns is to shoot looters in your store. I mean if you own a store. So much for your "preparedness".
"Walmart reports that when disaster strikes, the first commodities to run out are beer and strawberry Pop Tarts."
Lol, I always thought it was bread, eggs, and milk.
"Oh, and the only reason you are going to need guns is to shoot looters in your store. I mean if you own a store."
I own a store, and if anyone tries to loot it, they'll be stopping a .45 bullet or 12 gauge 00 buckshot. : )
Thanks for your reply.
Strawberry Pop Tarts! Ha Ha Ha!
Twice a week.
I'm not obsessive enough to plan for all the different possibilities of catastrophic events. I've got the basics and I'll either figure something out or I won't. :)
As for preps, I have a gennie to keep my freezer frozen, dozens of battery powered lamps, and water to flush the toilet several times. All those get used occasionally.
