I agree with the bottom line of the article - get rid of minimum wage.
The article was hard for me to follow - maybe cuz the NYT flip flopped on their agenda.
Every industry I know of in my state pays well obove the minimum wage even if it were to manditorily be moved to $15/hour. The businesses that don't are small mom & pop shops, and fast food chains, and bars and resturants. The bars and resturants make up for in tips. The others are either going out of business because they can't get decent workers or they have family members working there that get paid under the table. Supply and demand takes care of wages as long as the business is healthy. If it's not, it won't matter for long anyway. JMHO
