+372 Even if you have no religious belief, you should not be intolerant of those who do, amirite?

It's kinda hard to sit there and play nice and not say mean things when somebody's in you face screaming about how you're gonna go to hell. Most atheists are perfectly nice until that happens, then shit hits the fan and all a sudden we're "intolerant" of religious people.

And those of religious beliefs shouldn't be intolerant of those without. Don't tell me I'm going to hell then accuse me of being intolerant.

I'm totally tolerant as long as they don't shove their beliefs down my throat. My dad yells at me all the time for not being religious and not wanting to go to church. Fine, be Catholic, but don't tell me how to live my life.

I'm 100% tolerant of others religous beliefs as long as they're tolerant when it comes others not having any religous beleifs.

Yeah as long as you don't go around spritzing holy water on people then I say live and let live.

hey from what I know there is one way to heaven and the other options lead to hell...I don't condone other religions however I encourage people to find The one and only God. It's your choice though..

i agree, but tolerance should go both ways. people of different religions should tolerate each other, and atheists and theists should tolerate each other. it really goes down to just ignorance vs. tolerance, no matter what the issue. race, gender, religion.

I was the original poster, and I am an atheist through and through, but it really winds me up when others act 'superior' because they thick their disbelief is of more value or power then someone's religious belief. I would expect this tolerance to go both ways, as I agree, many religious people do need to also take a step back. However this is usually the perspective we usually hear about, so I thought it was perhaps time for us atheists to practice what we preach, so to speak.
