Yes, there are lots of dogmatic fools on college faculties, particularly in the soft sciences and philosophy.
There are basically 4 choices:
1 - Work at a minimum wage job.
2 - Work at a trade job (usually require either trade school, community college, or apprenticeship).
3 - Get a college education and hopefully a job in that field.
4 - Start your own business, and hopefully succeed.
If your future career demands a degree, like a doctor or lawyer, then yes.
If you like the prospects of building a good steady income - look into the trades.
