Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made for Walkin'
I'm kinda biased because I like good-looking legs inside boots.
HA HA HA!
Smoooooooth. Thanks, Jan. :)
Good song. Wild intro, though... Lol
Y'all are posting some good tunes. :)
You and me both!
I'd never heard of him...but I like.
I grew up on rock (now dubbed "classic" 😕), fell in love with country as a teen, but loved the big band era songs my ma sang when I was little, and even like a rap tune or two...so I'm all over the place. :)
Never got hiphop...eh, Eminem and Kid Rock hail from here and got me listening, but Tupac had a good one or two. Not my go to, but I'll not deny talent or quality when I run across it.
Foreigner was the first concert I ever went to.
The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
I love comparing the original to covers. I like both of these. Sometimes I like the cover better, though. Other times nothing but the original will do.
This is one I prefer the cover of:
I love Otis Redding...just thought the Black Crowes did more justice to that one song. Hey, I basically hail from MoTown...love the music. :)
Ah, but the sounds don't really come from studios or regions...they come from the heart, from the pain of experience...they are earned.
Wow, thanks for sharing that, JW. I bet it was great. And it's so awesome that you got to be a part of that. Thanks again... :)
HA HA HA! Look who you are talking to...the queen of long-windedness! Some things require their entire essense to be accurately conveyed. Never apologize for going the extra, JW. Thanks again. :)
This one just came to me...
Rolling Stones - Under My Thumb.
Light My Fire - The Doors
I've loved that since I was little. My ma used to sing to us a lot. She could keep the six of us calm on car trips by singing, and that woman could go for hours without repeating a song.
My Mom sang Tom Dooley to us on car trips. When I grew up I thought that it was a sad song.
It is. I like a lot of sad songs, though. Here's one...
Yes, I remember that one and wasn't there one called Patches where someone dies in a car crash?
Might this be the one you're thinking of?
I remember that song but I must have the name wrong on the one with the car crash. This will bug me until I remember what that song was.
I did enjoy listening to this one again. Thanks.
Thanks, but not this one. See my reply to Boz...
I have to do some memory work on the song I am talking about.
Love that one, too. :)
Nice. Thanks, Vic.
Look above...perhaps you know me a bit too well?
Fuck yeah! Love this song. Wonder why...?
A favorite of mine!
Mama Cass.... Dream a Little Dream Of Me.
It did, yes. And yes, it is.
Always loved that Redding tune. Thanks, Rooster.
Dang, it won't play for me.
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl...
Nighttime would find me in Rosa's cantina
Music would play and...etc
I was in El Paso once. It was never like the song...
One of a kind that one was...thank you.
My grandparents had this on a 78
Nice. Thanks, D-dub.
