This is in China, of course, but how long before it is here?
My point, really. Society is voluntarily adopting that which, were it forced upon us, would be more clearly seen as Orwellian. Not only is society adopting such technology, it is demanding it. The primary reason being convenience. The inherent dangers seldom factor into the decision to use a new technology. As it has become so pervasive, it's basically impossible to completely avoid it. The problem is becoming dependant upon it...and I'm afraid that ship has sailed.
China isn't the real villain, T. Human nature is. No matter how beneficial an invention is, someone will find a way to use it for evil. Existing US patents are enlightening, as is a wander through declassified documents. The things our own government has admitted to, albeit reluctantly, is horrifying. Anyone who is a student of history knows other countries have done likewise. China is certainly exploiting technological advances right now, but we are only seeing what they do more clearly because their form of governance follows Orwell rather than Huxley. Western governments, led by our own, have realized the truth Huxley stated...it is easier to control large populations through acquiescence merely backed up with force than through sheer force alone.
I can see it having it's goods and bads in some cases like a missing child but I wonder how long it will be before China does the same to adults to monitor them and what they say.
Of course, the uniforms will start being too expensive and the chips will start going directly into the person......and it's just a lot easier, to go ahead and have them installed at birth.
It has been claimed that is already happening. And I highly doubt that they aren't already collecting and cataloging DNA at birth.
It doesn't surprise me.
sounds like they care about their children … china is probably a big human trafficking export
