Nope. Had lace-up skates at the rink. Could not imagine trying to skate on dirt/gravel roads or the Dixie. :)
Good point. You had to fine a sidewalk somewhere to make use of them.
There were no sidewalks where I grew up.

I don't recall butch wax, or having a phone number with a word prefix. Still, I'm at least as old as dirt.

No party lines or Howdy Doody. We had dial phones and Bozo the Clown.
Newsreels were before my time but I do remember these playing before the movie began. Especially at drive-ins.
