Unless it's an area occupied by Bigfoot.
My idea of roughing it is a hotel without a restaurant attached.
Eating and sleeping outside, that's basically just camping, isn't it? I'm not really into camping. I'm not totally averse to it, but it's not a hobby of mine.
My forays into the outdoors are generally day trips, usually on ATV or motorcycle, sometimes on foot. I might bring a sandwich, but usually I just bring some water and a jacket, travel light. I keep some trail mix in my pack, but it's just in case of emergency, so one bag lasts all season if all goes well.
In my experience, when you do a trip like that it's physically demanding, and at the end of the day I'm usually a little tired and sore, so I want the comfort of home, not a tent.
If I was to "buy an experience" outdoors, what I would want is comfortable accommodations, good food, and a series of motorcycle / ATV day trips to different destinations.
