I prefer the older movies too. Not too keen on the westerns though. But there are some good ones out there. One western I liked was Duel in the Sun. Gregory Peck and Jennifer Jones. Great movie
I agree, I can't remember the last "new" movie that I enjoyed. Most of them have no story line, just a lot of vulgarity and violence. Not my cup of tea.
I really like the older westerns and scifi, but once in a while a new movie will catch my eye.
I was watching, I think, Gunsmoke and saw a girl on screen that I thought I recognized. Sure enough it was a very young Mary Tyler Moore as a saloon girl. It's amazing how many stars got their starts on the old westerns.
I saw Bette Davis, when she was older, in a Gunsmoke episode, but I don't think I ever saw her in the old westerns when she was younger. I just may not have recognized her.
After thinking about it, I think MTM was in a Wanted Dead of Alive show.
One of the reasons I watch is to see people like Robert Redford, Raquel Welch and others before they got their big break.
Can't say that I have a preference, and a list of my favorite movies would include some that are almost as old, or older than I am. I had the pleasure of watching two great very old ones not long ago...Captains Courageous and Inherit the Wind.
One of my all time favorite movies was released in 1999, but there are more recent ones that I like a lot too.
It's about a lovely, shy young woman who is betrayed by her lover who was only after her money. So she turns him away and becomes a stronger woman because of it.
My analysis will ALWAYS be the correct one, now don't crawl into a corner and suck your thumb because you know I'm right. lol
Very true.
Glad those good ole days are gone. lol

I just finished watching Love Me or Leave Me with Doris Day.... she was such a good singer/actress.

Mine too. I can't remember the last good movie we went to see.

I was amazed at all the actors that made it big getting their start in westerns. One that I was really surprised, was Betty Davis.

I saw Jack Nicholson, when he was young, in Gunsmoke. What a shock. lol

I enjoy both.
Right now I've been more into older movies. I've been watching a lot of Ingmar Bergman. Weird, interesting stuff.
Most of the oldies have good story lines not like what they have out there now.
I would have thought it would have been The Heiress? .....
Nope, evidently you're thinking of another movie.
It's about a lovely, shy young woman who is betrayed by her lover who was only after her money. So she turns him away and becomes a stronger woman because of it.
Happy Father's Day, enjoy the show.
I prefer older movies such as Casablanca, Bringing up Baby, and Breakfast at tiffany's.
We did watch Captain America last night. I just recently started watching new movies.
I like the older movies too. The Heiress, Duel in the Sun, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane. All good ones and many more.
Oh those are good ones. Next weekend I plan to watch To Catch a Thief
That's a good movie too. Yesterday I watched Calamity Jane and Love Me Or Leave Me, classic Doris Day films. Still good though.
Oh I love Doris Day movies
Me too.
I don't watch many movies but there's a 95% chance, I'll watch an older movie, over a new one.
