Nah....what fun is that
Well until the internet po po show up that is
I am an overgrown child, I lack the ability to be serious. Well I can if I see people being an asshat like those that criticize the way people talk
Do Humpback whales crap in the woods?
Wow you wonder that too. Here I thought I was the only one.
Lol...Humpback whale droppings makes for great compost.
Lol I tried to tell people that
That'll be enough of that :(
Lol...Well, you asked.
People today hear what they want to hear. We have all become very sarcastic in what we say and I think we developed this as a coping mechanism for a world that mostly disagrees. I am a joking person but sometimes I say something dead serious and people can't believe me , which is a downside to constantly telling jokes however also I will also say something that is clearly a joke and have people believe every word of it. Some conversations totally miss the point because of sarcasm and someone's inability to identify it or use it properly. With sarcasm we can have two people be mistaken into thinking they agree.
So yes I am very serious about the jokes I tell
Sarcasm is effective if used all the time and least effective when you are sometimes being diplomatic, sometimes just plain honest and the rest being ironic/sarcastic. People want to get a bead on you so confusing them as to your meaning at any given time is counterproductive... this is what you're saying?
There you go. Exactly.
i'm saying it's a way for us to purposely be vague and confusing and a mechanism for mistaking someones real intentions
Yes. And this may be what turns some people off. "Is he serious? Is he pulling my chain? I don't know what he means anymore". Etc etc. An inside joke to yourself means you laugh alone.
Those are the lucky ones who know that persons disposition. I'm saying many people like that person better because they assume they are sincere. And we can really hear the words we want to here..
Someone says "nice hat dad"
after a few times in reality that hat is now know as dads nice hat
I think dear old dad has heard it all and can tell when someone is being a wise ass. Dads know when to grin and bear it... trust me.
...more subconscious then purposely
