Maine is the only state name with one syllable, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
that's a fact. It makes a bad amirite
by Anonymous13 years ago
no there's kentucky
by Anonymous13 years ago
ken-tu-cky lmao
by Anonymous13 years ago
WTF? Kentucky has three syllables dumbass.
by Anonymous13 years ago
wait whats a syllable??
by Anonymous13 years ago
Wow somebody needs more schooling. A syllable is a unit of spoken language. The word bacon has two syllables because it takes two units to say it- ba-con, Kentucky has three because it takes three units- ken-tu-cky. Understand now?
by Anonymous13 years ago
sorry i thought it was how many letters there are in a word.
by Anonymous13 years ago
lmao wow
by Anonymous13 years ago
a unit of spoken language larger than a phoneme; "the word `pocket' has two syllables" you say it pock- et you dont say mai-ne you say maine
by Anonymous13 years ago
lol teach me to troll like you
by Anonymous13 years ago
oh my goodness. thats hilarious. hahahahahaha
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh so then florida only has one syllable too.
by Anonymous13 years ago
no you got it wrong
by Anonymous13 years ago
nope
by Anonymous13 years ago
oh sorry...I thought syllables were the number of letters in word! haha
but, yes I do
by Anonymous13 years ago
are you for real? lmao
by Anonymous13 years ago
don't worry eww poo ill explain it. You see... If your going by letters in the word, then florida has 4. if your going by syllabls, its obviously 3, you just have to sound it out. F-l-orida. make sense?
by Anonymous13 years ago
you dont have to explain it to me i know im just laughing at what people were putting
by Anonymous13 years ago
(eww poo): Oh i know you know whats going on i was just messing around telling you that i would explain it to this anonymous person
by Anonymous13 years ago
hahaha no, read the above comments...
by Anonymous13 years ago
okay, I'm leaving the conversation, I was just kind of joking around because I thought some of the previous comments were funny.
To the person who wrote this, you are right, Maine is the only state with one syllable.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Fuck yeah, Maine.
by Anonymous13 years ago
California has one syllable. It doesn't have only one syllable but, it has one syllable.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're stupid, yes I get what you're trying to say, but it counts for the word as a WHOLE, not just certain parts of the word you stupid shit.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah, the whole word has 3 syllables. which means that it has 1 syllable too. Like if I had 3 dollars, I also have one dollar. The OP never specified that it's ONLY one syllable, just that it has one syllable, which every word does.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're trying to act like you're all smart by over thinking and twisting words around, problem is you only look like a douche, gtfo.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You look like a douche for commenting anon.
I'm just stating that the original post is incorrectly worded, making it untrue.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh my, these comments... the future is going to be a scary place, isn't it?
by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago
