Love does have a color preference thou... but charging more for the red crayon seems wrong
That's funny to me
I'm a knuckle-dragging ignorant bigot, now? Eh, been called worse.
Kudos to Ms. Graham for standing on principle.
The inherent problem with "equity" over equality is that it assumes that all non-whites are poor and economically disadvantaged and that all whites are living large. Charging $10-40 more per ticket for whites, based solely upon skin color, is both racist and discrimination.
It's Okay To Be White
I have experienced this at the door of a club where a woman was let in and I had to not only wait in a non existent line but I was then asked to pay 50 $ just to get in.
I know a lot of times that happens with select women, but I've not seen it as an advertised, across-the-board posted price. Clubs often let "VIPS" bypass the line and enter without paying the cover, too. Such are common business decisions by club owners who know that the VIPs and hot women are a draw for their paying patrons. It differs in that it is not discriminatory based solely upon immutable characteristics. Now if a club posted that all women get in free, but guys have to pay cover, men would have a legitimate beef...but the women are generally the reason they are there to begin with.
I don't even have a problem with what the music festival did. But it is discriminatory and racist. And were the prices reversed...there would be national and international outcry, not to mention law suits and likely federal civil rights violations.
I love identifying these double standards … It's a crazy world ...maybe one day we will look at the whites only pie people as being early prototype SJW's
Double standards have always and will always exist. I understand people striving to change that...it is how they do so that I sometimes take issue with. When the methodology is to simply flip the standard, that effects neither equality nor equity.
Some are just protected by law … I think what goes around comes around … We may be punished for the sins of our parents and responsible for the sins of our children making us righteous in our own sins .
But I've been hearing too much shit being projected today on a generation that has nothing to do with it. As if being directly responsible
...but some people prefer chaos
Karma can truly be a bitch. But life just is not "fair". Nor can we ever make it so. Neither equality nor equity exist in nature.
The current demands, finger pointing, and pandering will not bode well for society.
Indeed, some thrive on it.
As always... JMHO
This may be shocking to some, but this "liberal" agrees with everything you've said here.
Well, I don't think that "one drop" rule would apply here...so I dunno. I'm guessing it would be those who simply look "white".
My favorite part is when you receive a vocabulary lesson and a word is completely misunderstood. EQUITY . I'm starting to get scared of words and peoples misuse of them.
