I would say 10 till 4
That's interesting. Is that a regional way of saying that? Where I'm from, for example, a chimney is often called a chimley
Most likely a regional way of saying that. I've just always said that and so does every one else I know.
I live in Texas, and have been teased (when in other areas of the country) often when I commented that I was 'fixing' to do something instead saying I was ready to do something - such as 'fixing to go to the store' sort of thing.
Ha! I'm from Canada and I've said "fixing" in that context, too. I guess I picked up that and other expressions from the TV. For example I often say "Oh, nice" (which means "What a revolting development this has turned out to be" as Chester Riley used to say) from a British TV show called Keeping Up Appearances.
I think I've seen all of the Keeping up Appearances episodes to many times to count. Yep, and poor Hyacinth always wanting Onslow to put on a shirt.
Some shows are easy to enjoy. That show was one of them :)
Half past 3:20? :)
What the hey?
