I agree that over long term, a closer competition does feel like you got something.. But for example, it's 9-9 and your opponent wins an intense point, you or... I have one of those 'punch myself' moments

Yeah, I agree it is disappointing. But not nearly as embarrassing, and that feeling will fuel you to do better. Just IMO
