+62It's funny how Universal studios' logo is the Earth, a planet that accounts less than 0.0001% of the solar system. amirite? Also about earth, universe, galaxy, and solar system
+414Think about how small you are compared to an elephant. Think about how small that elephant is to a whale. Think about that whale compared to a mountain. Think about that mountain compared to the earth. Think about how small the earth is compare to the sun. The sun is to the solar system. The solar system to the galaxy. The galaxy to the universe. You fell pretty small. amirite? Also about earth and solar system
+52The Earth is probably the brightest planet in the solar system because of all the lights we have, amirite? Also about life, earth, and solar system
+591They've just discovered a planet that is only 20 light years away in a solar system like ours that is about the same size as Earth and the right distance from it's star so that it could have liquid water. The chances of this planet having life are more then 50%. This is the most important discovery of the year, but it will be under reported, amirite? Also about universe, galaxy, and solar system
+377You're in a city, that's in a state, that's in a country, that's on a continent, that's on a planet, that's in a solar system, that's in a galaxy, that's in the universe. You feel small, amirite? Also about earth and solar system
+182It's strange to think that if humanity is able to leave our solar system and find a new sustainable planet before the sun destroys Earth, our species could potentially survive for trillions more years. We could multiply across planets and maybe even galaxies. The only thing holding us back is Earth, amirite?
not me per se, but if we solve aging in humans and get rid of death unintentional death, over a long enough timeframe, my descendants could, as long as all of the bodies are moving in any roughly circular orbits around each other.
Fair enough but the universe is still expanding faster than the speed of light.
add up all the speeds it'll make your head spin
Since there is no absolute coordinate system in the universe, I can simply define my location as the origin point around which all other movement takes place. It doesn't quite work for rotational translations, but for linear translations, it's perfectly valid.
Don't forget that the ground is literally moving with plate tectonics.
True but realistically not very important or useful to know.
I can feel it in my head.
