Tostitos makes two sizes of jars of salsa

Aren't hot dogs and stuff like that too where you get like 8 buns and 12 hot dogs per pack or something

It should be 12 hot dog buns as per a very old baker tradition of 12 (or often 13) smaller loaves of bread-like stuff being purchased and sold at once. This is also the case with a dozen donuts. I have no idea why hot dog bun packagers choose to be weirdos and package the buns in eights.

The hot dogs have always been too many for me to use up in one meal except when there are extra people eating. As a single guy cooking for only myself I find the 3-packs of the thick premium hotdogs to be an ideal number but they're expensive.

You'd have to buy two packages of hotdogs and three packages of buns for it to even out.

Well, yeah, I was interested in eating hotdogs for ten days in a row, wasn't it? Single guy here so it would make no sense to me to do that.

This is a great time to also talk about toasters and slices of bread.

What about the ratio of chip size to jar mouth size?

Probably because my BF needs two jars of salsa for a bag of chips, and I need two bags of chips for a jar of salsa. No way to win!

They're made so you have to buy multiples of some or another... same reason you get 5/6 packs and not in 7's and 14's which would make more sense.

Actually from a sales and marketing standpoint its brilliant. It creates an endless loop of buying.

'Oh I still have chips left, but I'm out of salsa, better buy some salsa.'

'Oh now I'm out of chips, but have salsa, better buy chips.'

Not if you shop at Costco

Not to mention the size of the much larger jug of salsa, which requires you to buy an extra bag of chips. Unless you buy the mega bag of chips, but then you would have to buy the super jug of salsa. And as we all know, if you buy the super jug of salsa, you'd have to get the mondo bag of chips. But if you do that you...Oh no, I've gone cross-eyed.

I just don't understand the dilemma.
