They occasionally say they are listener supported, but not 12 times an hour. Wouldn't listen to it if it did.

It isn't necessarily an ad, just so the listeners know for 60 times an hour to which station they listen
yeah, the radio stations that do ad free always advertise that they are doing ad free.
