What if they are rushing to a hospital because something happened, or they have their kid in the car who just got stung by a bee and they are racing to a fire station? You just immediately think it's best to insert your assumption into the situation instead of avoid it, if possible. The fact of the matter is, if they were just being an asshole, you could incite them into a road rage incident not event directed at you.
One day I had to rush to the hospital cause I got a call that my brother was burned due to a work accident. The person in front of me on the highway, in the left lane did this exact thing. Going from the speed limit to below the speed limit. You can clearly tell it was intentional.
You don't know what the person behind you is going through to need to get to a place. At the very least, move out of the passing lane.
My brother was "fine" the burn was third degree but it was only on his hand.
Guilty? Not at all. Especially when there are multiple lanes and I'm in the slow lane, but bugalugs in the car behind is trying to herd me like a sheep.
It is best to get out of the way if possible. The reality is they aren't necessarily just being irresponsible or trying to be an asshole. They could be rushing to the hospital, a job interview but the babysitter showed up late, the house if a loved one who called for help.. while not likely, the best approach in any of these situations is to yield and "be there better person". Of course only if it is safe to do so. YOU are making the conscious decision to purposefully impact someone else's life based on a prejudicial presumption. Just because someone is driving faster than you, or the speed limit does not make them a target for antisocial behavior.
Why would anyone think this is ok? Just let them go by and get out of your life, if it's safe of course. Just really irresponsible and selfish. I just yield, take the high road.
I don't feel guilty at all. That could save someones life.

Not me I speed up; I live in the mountains and don't want a brodozer running me down on the down slope

They don't even know they're doing anything wrong it's how daddy taught them

I slowly apply pressure to my parking brake to slow down without my brake lights flashing. In my head, the person behind me is losing his mind.
Actually I think you drive a five speed manual

I hear ya'. I'm the same way - never know if there is an emergency or something. I just want out of the way of someone driving crazy.
