What about Molly Brown?

@Unaviable What about Molly Brown?

Don't think it's accurate that she gave Jack a Tux.

Maybe not - but the character was BASED on the really Molly Brown. BASED, not a biographically correct narrative of the persons's life account.

Cool thing about Brown's relationship with Jack Dawson. She really was the most likely to sympathize with him and his relationship with Rose. She was born poor and desired to marry into wealth, but wound up marrying for love to a man who was as dirt poor as she was. The wealth came her way after they got married.

It's true this movie can best be classified as historical fiction, but Cameron is truly a Titanic obsessive as demonstrated by his decade of studying the wreck after the movie came out. A lot of information we know about the wreck in particular come from him. He did go out of his way to make the sets as accurate as possible, and hired people who looked like the historical figures they were playing. A lot of what happened in the movie comes straight from survivor testimony, even if that particular testimony wasn't the best source available.
