Modern construction is the reason for natural desasters seeming more destructive... A cave man in a 9.0 earthquake would be more likly to survive because he doesnt have 100 floors of broken glass raining down on him... Same with hurricains its our false sense of security that makes us believe we are safer... So i guess my point here is that...modern convenience and building has caused more destruction, not the power of the storms, amirite?
