Instead of all the prequel and sequel movies coming out, they should start making equels – films shot in the same time period as the original film, but from an entirely different perspective. Amirite?

Individual films can already do that if they’re well written. The best example of that is the Empire Strikes Back where multiple stories are taking place at the same time. Good question!

Oh yes the Empire Strikes Back is an amazing film (I'm a little Star Wars obsessed, don't mind me). Still have you read The Empire Strikes Back From a Certain Point of View? It gives events from outside perspectives and makes me wonder, "Hey, what's the galaxy like outside of Luke's Jedi training and Rebel Alliance and the Empire and stuff?" But yes, I see your point... a good film should tell multiple stories.

But like. I want my prequel era from another context after seeing TCW season 7. You probably aren't obsessed with SW like I am, but basically someone gave a point of view on the Jedi that makes me want a movie about the civilian life. Is basically the point of the post, lol.
