A lot of sensible political posts on Amirite get quite a few legitimate upvotes, say 8 or 10.  Then, all of a sudden, a day or two later, 10 or 15 (or however many it takes) downvotes appear, all in a very short period of time.

Sorta like the presidential vote in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Phoenix, etc. last November, amirite?

Interesting, since there aren't 57 active users here.
But there is  one active lefty here with hundreds of phony sock accounts.   hehe smilie

How is my post currently at -57? Pray tell, where are you seeing that?

Maybe, but I am not one of them.

Having a political discussion with you is a barrel of monkeys.
1. First you say something nonsensical.
2. Then I send you a link proving what you said is nonsense.
3. Then you don't read the link.
4. Then I remind you to read the link (maybe several reminders are necessary).
5. Then you finally read it and say so what and/or change the subject.
6. A couple of days after that, you are back to believing the very same nonsense you believed in the first place. That happened with our discussion of Mueller a couple of years ago and with our current discussion of politicians being rich... you quickly erase (in your mind) anything that disproves your incorrect beliefs.

We are now at step 4 in our discussion of your post that has a -57 score. For your edification, here is a screen shot (not that it will make any lasting impression on you hehe smilie ).  Look in the upper right hand corner.  Do you see the -57 ?

I mean how does my post have anything to do with Trump getting his ass fired in November?
As far as the -57 goes, that also could be you or 'simmering one' since this site allows members to down-vote over and over again.
That's the thing with you, Thinker, you always lump about five topics under one heading, making it's hard as heck to follow any 'failed points' you may be trying to make.

"I mean how does my post have anything to do with Trump getting his ass fired in November?"
My response to your comment had to do with showing how easily fraudulent votes can be entered, either here on Amirite, or in national elections.

No, it doesn't... try it yourself if you don't believe me.  Downvoting a second time simply deletes your first downvote.
You have to have many sock accounts and/or use proxy servers.  I have no sock accounts, nor do I use proxy servers, unlike the spammer, who downvoted you many times because you said you hoped nothing had happened to me.

Wow, you really researched this one, didn't you? I remember a time when you could down vote offline- no?

I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to, even if they could. Are you making friends again? :)

Kinda sorta.

It follows a pattern that wouldn’t naturally occur. The down votes all happen in a short period of time similer to Biden taking 5 states at 3:00 am with a massive voting dump.

@dru18 Un huh, its called counting the mail in ballots.

Yes, you’re correct. It’s called counting the mail in ballots for the candidate that needs to win so you create ballots for one candidate.

Umm.... Trump won in 2016, The House went back to Democrats in 2018, Trump lost in 2020 with the Senate going back to Democrats. Yeah, there's a pattern here alright- its called hating Trump.

dru18s avatar dru18 No Way +11Reply
@TheSimmeringFrog The hatred is from the left. They’re the one burning the country down.

Nonsense, Trump caused the hatred.
He came in with the intention of only governing for 37% of the country and he wasn't shy about saying just that. Unfortunately for him, 37% won't get you across the finish line.

It's called stuffing the ballot box with "votes" that were never properly vetted for signature or identity of the supposed voter.

Oh baloney. It was all a conspiracy to take down Trump. Why even the Republican governors and Trump appointed judges were out to get him.
If true, that ought to tell you a lot about his popularity.

Even the NY Times understood the potential for mail-in voter fraud in 2012.

Their opinion only changed recently, when the mail-in fraud worked against Trump.  hehe smilie

@dru18 I think bs of this post was even too much for the link since it refuses to work.

That's strange... the link works fine for me when I click on it.  Maybe your computer knows from your browsing history that you don't like to read anything that contradicts your nonsensical political beliefs.   biggrin smilie hehe smilie biggrin smilie

Here, for your edification (not that anything can edify you where politics are concerned), is a quote from the linked Times article:

"There is a bipartisan consensus that voting by mail, whatever its impact, is more easily abused than other forms. In a 2005 report signed by President Jimmy Carter and James A. Baker III, who served as secretary of state under the first President George Bush, the Commission on Federal Election Reform concluded, “Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.”
On the most basic level, absentee voting replaces the oversight that exists at polling places with something akin to an honor system.
“Absentee voting is to voting in person,” Judge Richard A. Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has written, “as a take-home exam is to a proctored one.” "

Arizona has been doing absentee ballots for years, even when they voted Trump in four years ago. I mean why is this never an issue when a Republican is elected? As far as the absentee ballots being higher this last time, there was a thing called COVID.

https://thehill.com/homenews/ad...-them-for-more

I will let The Hill educate you further to the study that was done.

dru18s avatar dru18 No Way +9Reply
@dru18 Arizona has been doing absentee ballots for years, even when they voted Trump in four years ago. I mean why is...

The Hill couldn't educate anyone out of a wet paper bag.  All it says is that Jimmy Carter and the NY Times changed their sensible former opinions on absentee voting... for perfectly obvious political reasons.

Furthermore, the article (starting with the headline) tries to obscure the difference between traditional absentee ballots (which have to be requested by the voter) and ballots that in 9 states were mailed out to every voter, unrequested. Of course Gov Newsom tried to do exactly that last year in CA, but was stopped by a sensible court ruling.
