Its incorrect to correct someone's grammer...because of slang and accents , you are in no place to tell somebody how to express themselves....you see ,the words of the english laguage are to be used HOWEVER you feel ... Grammer only exsists in a forth grade classroom ...in the real world there are no rules to speech or word crafting, amirite?
Nope, grammar is grammar. Someone may get something wrong because it isn't their first language, in which situation they get a pass but should be corrected (if I'm speaking Spanish in Spain or Mexico and making a fool of myself with terrible grammar, I'd like somebody to tell me so I don't embarass myself!!!) Language isn't about "expressing" yourself however you want, it's about "expressing" yourself in ways that other people can understand. Sure, they may be able to understand bad grammar, but it's important to have some sort of constant! That's why true grammar/spelling exists.
But to what end...to inlighten me???? Im just trying to communicate...ive said this 1000 times...if i write something wrong but you are able to identify and correct me, i have done my part in the act of talking.... Let your neighbors say elementary however they want, not just how YOU want
And for what you said about the world elementary, I didn't correct her... I'm pissed cause she corrected me and upstate New Yorkers are literally the only people who say it the other way.
No i was using a real life example... I hope you consider accents and local culture... Once you start correcting people , they lose their culture and freedom of expression. ... PROPER grammer is the MOST offensive form of colonialism today that everyone ignores.... Trump might say.." Everyone who speaks spanish is just trying to and bad at speaking English." How frickin old are you your child logic - and I say this not in an insulting way but in a purely factual way - is absolutely insane. I said SHE corrected ME, and yet you're still going on about ME considering local accents? And you the thing about Spanish people trying to be bad at speaking English - I never said anything of the sort!! I don't know what's going on in your head (probably because I can barely coherently piece together your comments anyway... even if I ignore lack of punctuation and capital letters where they belong, your sentence structure borders on not even English...) but it's majorly turned around!

English is a bad example because how lazy the makers of those rules are... The word SET has over 600 meanings...thats just fucking laziness
It may be lazy and confusing, but that's where me and my fellow grammar nazis come in handy :)
I only speak of english because this is my language, it seems like a language to keep people dumb
