cas·u·al –adjective 1. happening by chance; fortuitous: a casual meeting. 2. without definite or serious intention; careless or offhand; passing: a casual remark. 3. seeming or tending to be indifferent to what is happening; apathetic; unconcerned: a casual, nonchalant air. 4. appropriate for wear or use on informal occasions; not dressy: casual clothes; casual wear. 5. irregular; occasional: a casual visitor. 6. accidental: a casual mishap. 7. Obsolete . uncertain. - Those are the definitions of casual. Do any of them seem to fit?

Causalities in war are called so because death in war IS casual. One has to move on quickly. It's sad, really.

Casualties mean its normal. Its normal for people to die. someone dies every 10 secs, someones born every 8 secs.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

really now? Acually it's more like 5 born and 3 dead each second mr. Dumbass

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't know the statistics, but I think the 10/8 sec thing is more accurate. Either way, there are too many people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Okay no, its every 10 and 8, but if you want to simplify it, its 5 and 4, but no one simplifies it. Oh, whos the dumbass now, bitch?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are. "1" isn't supposed to be simplified. By simplifying it to 5 and 4 seconds (this is if you only simplify the seconds because you can't really simplify 1 person), you imply that a person dies every 5 seconds and another is born every 4. With this logic, 2 people are born in 8 seconds, which is obviously not equal to 1 person per 8 seconds that the first person suggested. Or, if you meant to simply both parts (seconds and persons) in half, then you are implying that half a person dies every 5 seconds and another half is born every 4. Now, half a person just seems silly, amirite?

In Spanish it's "fallecido" which would literally transalte as "failed". Lol.

A casualty is also when someone is wounded and cant fight anymore, not just when someone dies

by Anonymous 13 years ago

every one dies...so how is it not casual?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Everyone dies

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the point is, ITS SAD. DAMMIT.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the meaning behind the name isn't questionable though...

by Anonymous 13 years ago
